Hello, all. New here, but not to knives, been collecting and trading for about 30 years. I have several handmade knives, a couple of customs, and a bunch of older production pieces. This looks like a cool place to hang out while I am unemployed, looking forward to some intelligent conversation. Can't necessarily promise the same in return, however......:D

That seems like a good idea at first, until you start to see lots of knives that you want to buy.:D Seriously though, welcome to BF. If there's anything knife related that you want to know about, this is the place to find it.

It's not always intelligent conversation, but it's usually entertaining!

Just make sure you lock your wallet away while you are on here unless you have some spare money to spend...

Greetings and welcome from the bottom of the planet:)
I am sure that you will enjoy it here.......

Hi justjed -

I am a displaced OK native.

Welcome to the blade forums.

This place is very well run, and the moderators do not put up with (much) nonesense, so they keep it pretty smooth for people who just want to talk about knives and have a good time.

best regards -

Thanks guys! Yeah, I know about the drain on the wallet, nothing new there! I'm always seeing something new I want, even tho I have plenty of edge to cover just about any situation, there always seems to be another way to do the same thing! Alfaholic, been a big fan of your countries' work for some time, we have some South African dealers in town a couple of times a year for our big gun and knife show. I picked up a sterile Peter Bauchop Witch a couple of years ago, from a gentleman who didn't know what it was. Won't mention the price, don't want to make anyone cry. Suffice to say, it was about a third of what it cost new in '75! It was a user, the blade is lightly scratched, and the sheath needed some minor repair. One of his earlier pieces, it has a blued blade instead of the Kalguard coating. Reddish-brown linen micarta with integral guard, symmetrical finger grooves instead of the coke-bottle handle, round pommel, hidden tang, steel pins. It's my favorite piece, and no, it's NOT for sale! I'll try to post a picture or two.

Great Score!. I have a few of Peter's knives. He is retired now but Robert, his son, has picked up where he left off and he makes excellent knives.

I have visited Oklahoma several times but I have never been to Tulsa. One day i hope to make it to that big gun show you folks have.......a real wallet buster:D

Glad to have you on board.......Keep it touch:)
