*note, I'm going to try to make this a usefull review.

For whomever is keeping track, most of my posts here on BF will portray my liking of small knives. This is changing. I have come to the conclusion that " it is useless to have a good blade and then not have enough handle to properly use the good blade".

Most of you (BF members) would consider this knife as mid-sized. To me, it feels like a folding machettie(sp?) I will get used to the size.

Blade: 3.6in 154CM Black coated (with tape mesure, I got 3.5in.)
Handle: 4.8in double 410ss liners with G-10 scales. (I got 4.75in)
Over-all length; forgot what is claimed, but ( I got 8.25in.)
Locking method: Axis
Out of the box it feels substantial, heafty. Fills the hand nicely, ( I have med. sized hands and wear large sized gloves). Blade lock-up is solid, with no play at all and was centered just a smidge to one side. (just a smidge) Sharpness was very good but a few strokes on the strope and the hairs jumped off my arm before the blade got to it. G-10 is ok, but I much prefer Spyderco's texture. Out of box the G-10's outer-most edges were sharper than I prefer, so a little work on the belt-sander fixed that. Claimed weight is 4.4 oz. and seems to be a good weight for this size knife. This knife also carries tip-up and clipped to jeans pocket, rides good and not very noticeable.

I'm not in love with the black coated blade but I am in love with BM's 154CM.
G-10's texture is ok and will wear nicely I'm sure. Rounding the edges of the handle helped and makes the knife feel alot better. This should be a knife that will tolerate some good hard work.

*note, avertisement pictures don't do this knife justice. It's a good looking knife and solid built.

Thanks for reading, Walter.

You can find a lot of fixed blades with really tiny handles, they work well for small precision work, but when you actually hace to apply reasonable amounts of force I vastly prefer a full sized grip.

TOB9595, Thanks. Have no camera as of now. :grumpy:

Cliff, I've owned this knife just 6 1/5 hr.s and already ground the g-10 and "de-blacked" the blade. *man, I need a camera. :(

I just got a 732BT a couple of weeks ago and I was very impressed when I got it out of the box. It feels very substantial in the hand and mine was very sharp right out of the box. It's an excellent knife and just another wonderful creation from Benchmade. I wish Benchmade would slow down a little in creating such great knives, I am going broke trying to keep up. :D
