Gday all, what a great forum! Im a 40yo dad of 3 living in the outer East of Victoria, Australia. Ive been a knife fan since I was a young lad. Im just getting back into my outdoors interests now that the kids are getting a litttle older now, Ive just got my shooters licence back, Im looking at a Compound Bow purchase soon, and of course my blade collection is starting to grow.

Ive recently bought a KA-BAR utilty knife (USMC), a Buck Trapper, a Gerber Powerframe, and Im awaiting the arrival of an Ontario RAT 1. Next on my list is an Ontario RAT 5. Im liking these Ontarios!
I also have a Katana and a Ninja-to.

My other interests are Acoustic Guitars, Im a member of the Larrivee Guitar Forum and the Unofficial Martin Gutiar Forums too.

Anyways, I look forward to chatting and sharing knowledge and opinions with the good folk here on the Forum,

Cheers, Scott.

Good to have ya Scott. If you dig the Ontarios, you should love the Rowen models. Check out the ESEE manufacturer subforum to see the current models made by Jeff Randall and co.

G'Day mate (my best Mel Gibson). Welcome to the fun times on this forum. There is a whole bunch of good guys on here with a wealth of experience & knowledge from knives to "underwear" (you'll see). :)
My wife also plays the guitar, & still has her 1969 D35-12 string Martin from her "hippie" days out in Kansas. Hope you enjoy.
Be safe.

Nice! Ive got a Martin OM-21. Its a recent one though, still planning to put some more miles on it when I get the time.

Hey 7rip, yeah Ive seen the RAT variations from the various manufacturers, hey do you buy your knives locally or from the US? Ive been getting mine off US eBay.....

Cheers, Scott.

Welcome to the forum!

I have a couple of Washburn acoustics at home (Spruce/Rosewood & Solid Mahogany) that I'll torture my two Shelties with.

Welcome Scott! I have learned a LOT in my time on these forums, its probably one of the best knife-info resources on the web. Just a warning: this place is expensive! Both in time (just lurking can turn into an hours a day habit) and in $. When a poster raves about a new knife he just got, you get very tempted to go out and purchase one for yourself!

But its all good fun, glad to have you along.

Welcome to the forum! You will learn about a whole new world of addiction.

and remember this isn't a knife (Crocodile Dundee reference)

Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcome. As for this place becoming an expensive addiction, well as Ive said to my wife, knives are cheaper than guitars (my other addiction). My last one cost me $2750.00AUD. Hahahahaha! Bring on the Blades!

Cheers, Scott.

Welcome Scott! Another VIC to add to the fold - excellent

Don't use ebay! You'll get ripped off eventually and given our Aussie dollar is now worth more than the US dollar you can't go wrong from buying online.

knivesshipfree is my favourite because I love Bark River. $12 flat rate for shipping and it gets to Melbourne in a week!

I've heard good things about New Graham Knives too.

You can also order through Urban Conquest (I recommend you speak to Ron if you are planning on buying ANY folders as customs get twitchy whenever a sharp implement can be opened one handed).

Nice work on the guitar too - I haven't picked up my axe in a few years but have been thinking about getting back into it recently.

welcome scott you will find the forum to be your best & quickest site for all info from new to old to crazy.

The UNDP has a ranking of quality of life ranking of the countries of the world, sort of like the most and least livable countries. Australia is ranked #2 as most livable. The US is in the top five, I believe. NOrway is first and Zimbabwe is last.

Back to knives - sorry for the digression.:D

Welcome. There is also an Aussie subforum with general infromation about customs/importation issues into Oz.

Hey guys, and a big G'day to all the Aussies that have piped up. Good to know theres some of my countrymen here. Thanks for pointing me to the online shops HandofCod, I've sent off a few emails......

ESEE RCs are also on my radar.

Hey, why is the RC-5 more expensive than the RC-6 ????

Cheers, Scott.

P.S. Im lovin' it here!!!
