Newby here, I have a huge pneumatic hacksaw blade 3" X 16" with good teeth still on it. I am considering making a big "rambo" style knife from it. I have read that buying the right steel is cheaper in the long run, but has anybody had any experience with these? Is it worth trying? I'm still in Afghanistan for a few more months so I have a while before I can start it. My experience so far has been in making tomahawks and throwing knives for Mtn Man reproductions. I have had a love affair with sharp pointy things since I could crawl, and have skinned and butchered more criters than I can remember and recognize the difference between a pretty knife vs a knife you can depend on. I am a certified welder and have a lot of steel working tools. I just want to start off on the right foot. Sgt Joe
