these are gecs from 2009 into 2010
lockback 2010-frontier bone
#73 2009--northfield--burnt orange bone
trapper--2010--st.paddy--acrylic
lockback--2010--coppermelt acrylic
all knives other except the burnt are tiduote. the locks are at 3.7/8 & the orange is 3.3/4. i know someone will wonder what the symbol on the trapper blade means, it has production significance but joe bob or black mamba will be more specific on this symbol if they so desire.i'm still trying to get the photos clearer, going to have to get help.

How is the lockup and blade tightness on the new lockbacks?
Any lateral play?
The lockback in bone looks very nice.

Good to know about that PPP. I've got a toothpick in river blue bone that's got that and it had me scratching my head.

That St Pattys Trapper is something else. Really like that one. Wish GEC would ease off on the lockbacks - can't say I get the appeal.

I just got my first one today, and I really like it. That doesn't mean you have to, but the neat thing about GEC is that they make a wide variety of knives to suit a wide variety of folks. ;)

GEC is only going down the road of other makers.

That St. Paddy looks good.

i forgot to comment but the frontier bone is increadible. i shied away from this handle material for a long time because it looks so blaise. however a clearer site pic showed this bone in a new light. the handles are tapered in towards the middle making a very slender waist which certainly creates an exotic feeling knife.i beleive this is the only pattern with this handle feature, & i wish to mention again this bone really has to be seen in hand to appreciate the quality.

Peter, I have that Burnt Orange and it's fine stuff, has a kind or herringbone pattern to the jigging.

I'm brooding about that Frontier Bone no end...looks excellent!

I really like that St. Paddy acrylic and the long clip is becoming my favorite blade .

I really like the look of the copper melt. It almost looks like some type of polished wood. Any of that copper melt action in a #23?

Not yet anyway. At least I don't remember that name before that model was released. I think it's a new acrylic for them.

I like the way GEC is messing around with the various synthetic patterns. Not really my cup of tea, but after a little while, the colours begin to grow on me.

i believe joebob is correct on the copper melt. i have'nt seen it before. to my knowledge when gec moves on it usually does'st repeat an acrylic a year later. they may produce an acrylic in several different models but from 2007 & 2008 i did'nt see them repeating an acrylic. 3 that i've never seen again are fall harvest, grits & molasses & lava lamp to name a few. however i'm new to the game & this explanation may not be valid.

Dead Skunk was repeated, but I can't think of any others off the top of my head. And with a name like Dead Skunk, how could you not use it again?
