Love them, especially the two new variants!

Dunno about the name 'BallTear' phonetically though, bit jarring to sound out

I love the blade shape on the new Elementum but I don't like that a thumb stud was added. Overall, I like flippers or studs but not both. It feels superfluous and cluttered to me.

I don't mind a hole plus a flipper but studs are another story. They are obtrusive and can get in the way in some cases. If a hole is something missing that creates utility, studs are something extra that isn't needed. The exception is a front flipper plus studs but mostly because it seems more streamlined to me. Still, I'd prefer that studs stay a standalone method.

Another issue that doesn't always come up is that knives with multiple methods sometimes have their detents tuned more for one method than the other.

^^ Totally agree. Ditch the thumb studs. Clutter! Holes and flippers are where it’s at.

Is it bad when I see thumb studs on a new WE knife I’m relieved because I know I don’t have to buy it?

It’s an instant turn-off and my wallet rejoices. I have a problem.

At the very least, affix the studs with a torx screw and non-permanent thread-locker so that they can be easily deleted.

Prefer controlled opening folders. Don t use flippers, but don t mind them if there is a thumb stud or thumb hole in place.

I don t know why the Governor was discontinued. One of my favorites.

The Governor is a cool knife. It might have been the first thumb-stud Civivi and might also be the only one to run on washers. I love the blade shape. The ergonomics are almost perfect for me but the proud lock-bar jimping creates a little bit of a hot spot. I'd normally grind that down but the lock bar is coated on mine so I don't.

I feel the same way about the Incite. I'd love to see either of those models return in a good stainless like 14C28N.
