Let me see if I can tell a story as well as one of our favorite members, mikepapa1.

I haven't been into CRK collecting very long but from my first view of an Umfaan I just knew someday I would have to have one. Well a little over a week ago one popped up for sale. Just so happened Dave and I both had our eye on it and both of us had placed bids on it. When Dave realized how bad I wanted it he was willing to back off to let me have it. I appreciated the gesture and that's just the kind of person Dave is. Well the thought of one of us not getting it and Dave knowing what my maximum bid would be and the possibility of this one selling for more he offered me his little beauty whether he won the auction or not. Turns out Dave got the one we had bid on and being a man of his word sold the Pheasent Tail to me.

Now onto the pictures of the unwrapping of the package and pictures of the little gal!

Now I'm thinking that sure is one big knife box for a little knife...

HaHa talk about something I wasn't expecting...

Now onto the smaller item in the package...

It's really hard to explain how small these babies are if you have never seen one. Here is a picture with my EDC Zaan.

And one last picture...

Oh, and about the cookies... I came in the house after opening the package from Dave and my wife said, what was in the box? I said it's a box of Girl Scout cookies and sat them on the kitchen counter. Her response was, where did those come from and I said California. Now I really had her attention... She said what are you doing with them and I said Dave sent these for you (she doesn't know Dave). She said who is Dave and how did he know those are my favorite cookies? She has heard me speak of Dave before so after I told her who Dave was and what the other contents of the package were she went on to say you tell Dave I can't eat anything like that! That's when I noticed she got a package in the mail that day too but hers was from nutrisystem. Even though my wife has never met our friend Dave and he lives over 2000 miles away he is in the doghouse!

Thanks again Dave that gave me an evening out of the doghouse. And thanks for selling me one of my most cherished knives to date.

:D really a MP1 style story!

BTW the little baby is very very tender ... no I meant Nice :) glad you have it

As I was reading I thought to myself that the cookies were a pretty smooth move to disguise yet another knife coming in the mail, maybe we should all do that to help each other out. Then I read the rest, sometimes you just can't win ;)

That's a beautiful knife, congrats on acquiring it.

Oh man cookies are a great idea! I know it didn't work in this case but I think every knife dealer needs to have the "add a box of cookies to your order" option. My wife wouldn't be as mad at me about another knife purchase if it came with cookies.

Let me tell you Cowboy, I contacted Dave about that little guy he picked up too. Dave is just that kind of upstanding guy, period. I'm glad he won it...:D

That's a real beauty you got there my friend.

If you ever need to let it go, please let me know.

Take care

A really great story involving two very good guys!! Beautiful knife and show the class of the people on here. Of coures everytime I see pheasant tail I get excited because I think it is really going to be a phesant.

Thanks 1AbominAble1 I (or I mean Dave) would have been a lot better off if the package arrived a day earlier. In fact she may have even looked forward to the next knife but now, not so much so. :D

Yeah, I thought the same thing al g blenny but as the say a day late and a dollar short. Good thing Dave doesn't live any closer.

Thanks Andre and I agree with you on both accounts!

I hear you Bill, there are a lot of great people on this forum and thanks for the compliment. I'm surprised they don't put out something to do with bird hunting. Just need to find the person that did the engraving on Allessio's knife and have him do a pheasant on one of those large regulars of yours. That would look sharp!

Thanks Dan but if you ask Dave he would probably tell you those cookies are hard on your health. But it did soften the blow of a new knife for me. :)

ok, I don't really miss the Umfaan.. but I am now out of cookies!! Dam.. I cant lie.. I do miss the Umfaan.. and I still have some cookies!!:D but I am very happy for you brother!!:D
All the best Cowboy!!

Great catch, the both of you....... Cowboy, if you have time , and dont mind, could you post some pics of the Umfaan in hand? I would love to get a better idea of its size in comparison to a hand.

If you love it , let it go….something else good will come your way,,, way to share guys!

Welcome buddy, and I have thought of getting a pheasant on my knife, would be better if CRK would do something like that. Man that knife of Allessio's was something, don't think I could afford to sent it to Italy and also pay for engraving.

Great story. You navigated through the churning waters of persistence questions with pure finesse even though you finally ran aground. I doff my Tilly hat to you.
Kudos to you Dave for the kindness you exhibited.

Cody - I didn't see your post until I got to work this morning, I will try to remember to get a picture tonight when I get home. It's size sure does surprise you and the detail in such a small package is absolutely amazing, it is a piece of art!
