here are the latest from my shop:

I did the last work on these yesterday. The first is a compleetly new model. A 4 2/3" blade and 6.1" closec. It is a fairly large folder but with this proto I wanted to see how thin/light I could make it. I used .050" liners on this one combined with translucent green G10 and titanium bolsters. Both have been textured. This baby flicks open effortless!

next was a custom ordered folder. It is a smaller version of my Rocklobster with a 3" blade and 4" closed. I really like how this one turned out. I made it with RWL-34 blade and textured green camo Fibermascus. This one has .050" liners. To see the size I made a regularsized Rocklobster. The first I made of these where a framelock but this time I made it as a heavy duty linerlock with .090" liners. The big one has a 4 1/4" blade and measures 5.4" closed.

let me knoow what you think!

Comments? Oh, gee, let's see:

1) My only criticism: pics are too large for modem users (yes, there are still a few of us around), so maybe use Photoshop or something similar to optimize them for quicker loading.

2) Original blade shapes, original handle shapes, on the forefront of using unique materials and/or treating classic materials in new and original ways. As always, I'm shocked and flabbergasted at the same time.

One question: what size screws did you use for holding the scales on the Rocklocbsters? I'd like thread dimensions (are they 2-56, etc) and other info about them (Torx size, etc). I am planning a big balisong project and those look like they'd be perfect for part of it. Thanks!

Those are some nice folders! I like the textured bolsters, the translucent G10 is also nice. The rock lobster is a great blade design, as well!

I like 'em all :).., but man that first big slicer is some piece of work.., very nice!

Jens, absolutely incredible work. The innovation of your design is really something valuable to the custom knifemaking community.

Have you considered approaching Spyderco to produce a collaboration?

Looking at the pic. with four knives in it:

They're all nice but I'd like to see one with the handle of the third one down but with a blade more similar to the bottom one.

Just as a matter of curiosity, didn't spyderco trademark the round opening hole? Yes, I could be wrong here.

However, like I said, nice original designs.

Spyderco has a trademark on the round opening hole, but they license it out to some custom knifemakers. I believe Mr. Anso is one of them.

Yeah it's a trademark, my bad.

Ahhhhh.. I see.

I wonder if a hole in the blade of that bottom knife would work?

Jens, your knives look like living creatures. The first one, with the textured bolsters and transucent G-10, is incredibly beautiful.

The Rocklobsters look like great working knives, and so does the little one under them, very elegant handle for such a strong design.

Go to his homepage http://www.ansoknives.com/ and see it again, with a variant in damascus with an opening hole. Nice! :)

Oooooooooooooohhh, I want the damascus one with the hole. All he has to do is make a left handed one! All I need to do is work out where I get the money from.

thank you all!!!....The top one has to be the most popular folder I have made to date even though it is so new...the feedback I am getting is wild...!

I mainly use 2-56 screws from Halpern Titanium....they have everything you need....for the screws i use I have torx 6 and 8.

Yes Spyderco has trademarked the opening hole. I have a licens from them so I can use it on my knives.

I have made several lefthanded folders...no problemo!

Dear sir,
I've been admiring your knives for some time. With every new model you post here, I'm thinking it's the best you did and a better one just can't be. Yet, you keep pampering us with new beautiful knives. Thanks for sharing.

Ack! Don't tell me that, now I'll just have to save up some money and get one. You should have told me you don't do left hand models. ;)

with your hands  :footinmou :p ;) :D

so many smileys...

im pretty sure its just a pinch and pull type opener, i beleive to avoid the 1 handed opener laws...

all of these are absolutely stunning. they have more style then ive seen in anyone elses work that i can recall.

thank you for all the kind words!!!....

the bottom knife IS a folder....I just put the pivot under the scale....I did not put a hole in it since it is my own EDC and in DK we can´t carry one hand openers....since this one was made I have done a few with nailnicks but I must say I prefer openingholes.. :)
