I picked up one of Great Eastern's newest fixed blade patterns this week. This one is the Skinner Pattern. There is also a Bird & Trout and a Canoe model. I grabbed this one as I am a sucker for sexy clip points. I am really pleased with this knife. Though small in stature (7 1/4" OAL, 3 3/4" handle), really the same size as their average folder, it is hefty and solidly constructed and the fit and finish is superb. The blade is 1095, and as you can see from one of the photos, full tanged. No issues with sharpness out of the tube, this one could go right to deer camp as is. I am pretty impressed with this sheath too. Usually sheathes are an afterthought, but this one has very thick leather, with a snap cover and also the belt loop one the back side has a snap release, so you don't have to take your belt completely off to attach the sheath.

Looks like your quality inspector is on the job. :D I like the blade, very nice lines. However the handle looks way too much like a folder to me -- I'd always be trying to make it fold up. :o

That looks nice & handy, too. Thanks for the showing Corey

I have the Canoe pattern, and it's gonna make a great utility knife once I sharpen it. :(

Nice looking fixed blade, thanks for the pics. I am happy to hear/see that GEC is owning up to a quality USA knife producer.

Thats a fine lookin knife Corey. I like the size, and think that making the handle look like a folder is a great idea. Especially if the pattern used is a comfortable one.
Its a nice change, from what we are use to seeing, in a sheath knife  The sheath does look nice as well. I like to have a flap that covers the opening. Much better design imho than the old exposed style with a loop

Agreed! and ...that is a nice slim knife for a fixed blade as well, most of my fixed blades are pretty bulky stag etc...dont get me wrong there folks!!...thats all good...but Coreys knife is a sweet change :)
