Newest Knife

I just got a new knife. I just renewed my NRA membership and last week I got a coupon book from them. Included in it was a Cabelas coupon for $30 off a Buck Alaskan Guide Vangard knife. Mind you last month I received in the mail my Scott Cook Large Owyhee Hunter so I really couldn't afford another knife. But for $59.99 plus shipping I ordered the knife. I need help. I know I am addicted. The Vangard just came in the mail. The blade has inprinted on it BOS S30V USA. Which I assume means the S30V blade was heat treated by BOS. I am impressed with the knife. Buck has come a long way. I thought I was going to use the Owyhee hunter on my next deer but when I received it I said to myself it was too pretty to use on a deer. I guess I'll be using the Vangard now.

Go ahead and use the Owyhee Hunter!! I love mine and it works great on deer and elk and the occasional finger if not careful ! The true beauty of the Owyhee Hunter is its performance in the field.

I like the look of those Vangard knives, especially the wood handle models. I haven't bought one yet though. Way to go!

I bought a large Owyhee with snakewood and can't bring myself you use it either. I agree with you about Buck's quality, they are making some fine stuff. I'm sure the Vanguard will work well for you.
