Well, I had this one on order since early May. It was finally completed and arrived today. I was really hesitant to order a wood inlay sight-unseen. Grain and coloring vary SO much. But I love Box Elder and was totally pleased when this with it as it is a Box Elder Burl with a nice grain. I have seen some that were not Burl that were nice .... but not "really" nice in my eyes. So, not only did I luck out with one that makes me smile ... but got one of the new ones with the S35-VN and the new style clip (though not sure if any of the old style clips are still being used at all, at this point .... guess it depends on what's left in CRK's inventory). Anyway ..... here are more pics ....

Now .... just waiting for my Mnandi with Snakewood inlays to be completed!!

You'll love that box elder! The one I have has red in it, makes the grain really stand out.. Also I just got a bocote inlay.. New pin and new clip, but it was s30v,really doesn't matter to me... Congrats again on your mnandi.....

Most definitely lots of character in that inlay! The one line down the front inlay, makes it look like it has a bolster, very cool!

Very nice. I had the same issue because I was not sure how the inlay would look. Eventually I ordered my mnandi with an ebony inlay.

Thanks all ..... especially those of you with Mnandi collections large enough to finance a house!!! This makes Mnandi number 3 .... one more to go before I go into impulse buying mode!

Grats on the pickup, I certainly love the box elder as well. The more I see, the more I appreciate it. Thanks for sharing!

How does the change in nail nick design compare? Easier/Harder to open? It looks a bit smaller.

It is noticeably smaller. Shorter length wise and a little more rounded at the wide end. That said .... it matters not to me. I've never been able to use the nail nick on the Mnandi one-handed .... even if that was the acceptable method (which I question). So, I open by pinching the blade with two fingers of my opposite hand and open ..... just like I used to do back in the olden days. Even then, nail nicks weren't really necessary in opening a knife which had only one blade. Now, on multi-blade knives or multi-tools .... nail nicks come in handy.

I love the looks of the box elder burl on the mnandi. Very nice Score! I think I am going to eventually end up with one of these in my pocket.

Now that I have the Sebenzas I desired, I have been drooling over manadi and Ti-lock pics.
....What is up with this addiction! Will it ever end?
