Just finished a new sheath for my R-6. I have been carrying it as an edc ever since I got it and I cannot recommend this knife strongly enough. As my sheath making skills get better I'm sure this knife will get updates often. Of course since this is a working knife the sheath is not carved or fancy, just an upgrade in fit & finish.

Here is the sheath it came with.

Here are a few of the new sheath. Of course this one I made a better fitting pattern, dyed, wet molded for a tighter fit and the hand stitching is getting a little better.

Very clean looking Bill!

I would want to try one as well for my old khuks but it's gonna be leather lined with kydex inside. The stains from chopping and re-sheath with the moisture from leather will rust it and i figure kydex on the inside will be better. The idea is from M.S Winkler.

Jay,

I have been thinking about doing that myself but I don't want to touch kydex with a ten foot pole, at least when it comes to forming it and sanding it. It appears that this stuff is a timebomb for people messing with it that don't wear a NASA spacesuit.

For real pal? Alright let me wear my Fantasia Hat for that midas touch!

On the real note:
I don't see how it could explode...hm..only if you could send me your R6...i can make one for you....arghh i'm on the other side of the globe.

Looks very nice, Clean lines very functional. Grats on a great sheath, they are addicting to make though. As far as the kydex goes, its not bad to work with, you heat it until its pliable, I use my oven, then form it with your press and done, sanding is no biggie.
