Back in 2015, Tim Zowada crafted me a very nice pukko.
https://bladeforums.com/threads/tim-zowada-puukko-wip.1268426/

After I had posted that thread, asked Tim to make me a larger knife, in twist damascus with some different features, and some the same.

It has bronze and stainless fittings, and stabilized English Walnut that I got from Burt Foster. Sent Tim a set of Culpepper amber stag that were big and seasoned enough, a block of lacewood and a really nice piece of old-growth Cocobolo to choose from...but he picked the walnut.

The knife has been sent to Maestro Paul Long for sheathwork...so I'll begin posting now, and slowly, with the confidence and hope that all goes together well...the world is horribly random.

Paul Long does it again!

It's a classic blade shape, reminds me of work from Bill Moran, Jerry Fisk and Al Pendray, sort of a Southwest Bowie. This knife has soul. 7 1/2" blade, 4 3/4" handle. Engraving by Tim Zowada.

Comments and observations welcome. Should be in my hands by Thursday.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

love me a WiP! Looking forward to more, thanks Steven

Holy cow what a cool piece! Love the execution of the handle in particular - materials and embellishment are spot on. That's going straight into my best bowie file. And terrific leather work as always, Paul!

That's a wonderful knife. Such a crisp take-down of the handle parts.

Tim has always been a mad scientist of knives and always a top maker.

Terrific piece, STeven, and the minimal but expertly executed engraving and sheath make it tip top.:thumbsup:
