Here is my lastest Tosa in Green Canvas Micarta. I made some minor changes in the handle. It really feels great. 6" cutting edge. 12" OAL. CPM 154 satin finish blade is 3/16" at the ricasso. Tapered tang. Weighs 11.25oz.

I really love making this knife. This is the 4th one I have made.

hey, how do you like working with cpm154? do you do the heat treat?
a shot showing off that tapered tang would be good too. that takes a lot of work.

I've been working with CPM 154 for about 3 years. It's a real good steel. I think it is very easy to work. I do my own heat treating. I made up my mind last year to taper the tang on every knife I make and now I'm just accustomed to doing it. It's really not that hard and doesn't take that much more time, but I feel like what it does for the feel of the knife is worth the time. Here is a pic of the tapered tang. I think I only tapered this one to about 0.080" to 0.090". I like to leave a little more for a bigger knife like this, otherwise the knife is blade heavy. Oooooooh, I LOVE that!!! I am so going to have to order one of those from you one of these days!!! Great design....I just love everything about that knife.
 
Awesome knife John,i like the design ,recurved,swedge.belly and pointy tip,the built in
guard.this looks like quite a handfull and means serious business.I may have to get me one some day,but in the meantime i cant wait for my Dogo.
