The Fort Wayne Gun and Knife show is an annual attraction for my father and I. I told myself I wouldn't buy anything unless I could find one of the new CRKT Carson M18-02's. Low and behold, my old aquaintance, Steve Rhoades, from Midwest Gun Exchange was in supply. I picked up a plain edge model with the black G-10 inserts. I have to tell you, this is the best CRKT I've every handled. I don't typically go for "cheaper" models, now that I have weened my collection down to the cream of the crop, but this little beauty was a must have. One must handle this knife, for the pictures do not do it justice. A simple search will provide a more in depth review.

One odd thing I did notice were the "G-10" handle inserts. Does anyone know if this is really G-10? To my eye, it looks as though it might be very thin "G-10 like" material glued down to the aluminum. I couldn't find any more details while searching the forums. Has anyones' started to peel off of the handle yet? Other than this small issue, the knife is a sure winner. I might even go as far as to predict it "production collaboration of the year"

One other note, I had a chance to handle a MT Amphibian!!! This particular model has had many waiting and waiting. First impresions are very good. My dislikes are the thumb studs that are very reminesent of Shrade Cliphanger studs. Sort of oddly shaped scalene triangles. Second, the price a discounted $190.00 at the show. I wonder what retail is? Doesn't seem that nice compaired to the many other offerings now-a-days. Thanks :D
