I just received my first RAT/ESEE - like many others, I started with the Izula kit in Desert Tan. I got home ~7pm to find the package. Its now been cord wrapped, unwrapped, rewrapped, and am now trying to decide if I want/need scales!

Now to decide which RC to purchase next...leaning toward an RC-4!

Congrats . . . . man it sucks to be unemployed. I've traded for a couple of RC-5 knives and I'm still hunting for a trade on one of those Izulas. They look much more useful than my little Anza.

ive decided i dont need scales, the izula looks great even without wraps, which i cant say about many knives...
even when it was a prototype, i was amazed how complete it looks , plain metal, no paracord, no micarta...
dont get me wrong, it doesnt look bad with scales either, i just like the design as is, plain and simple, perfect
what i do need, is another ESEE, another izula for sure, next a HEST...and we shall see

congrats on your new knife

Congrats and welcome, Fat_46! If everything works out well, I'll purchase some ESEE knife myself in a month or two...

Yep, got my first one in yesterday myself, and love it:thumbup:

OD Izula, that came with one of the best factrory edges I've ever seen!

Wrapped it in 550, and have a OD custom sheath on the way.
I'm very impressed with the overall quality of knife...esp at this low price.

welcome to the family and the only advice i can tell you is go outside, dig a hole and bury your wallet.. and be quick about it. Like an old wiseguy called DocBurN said: "Damn, this forum cost a lot of money post-registration".

As long as its not crack, addiction can be a beautiful thing :D

My road: Bought an RC5, registered here, ordered an Izula O.D, RC3mil, RC6 with Rat Pack Kit, extra sheaths, ESEE Patches, an extra Izula in black, Izula scales, waiting on the junglas..

My road: Bought an RC6 to be the last knife I ever needed. And it was. WANTED is a different story.... *sigh*

Have the 5 and izula, got a 4 on the way. Already looking for the next one. Welcome to the insanity.:D

becareful.. I started the same way.. I ended up with almost all the knives sans the RC-6 and Junglas.. Now my addiction has climbed to new levels.. I've been buying Busse's and Swamprats now :S

I kinda did the reverse thing - I've purchased quite a few customs (and use most of them), but decided there MUST be a production knife up to snuff.

While I haven't used the Izula yet, nothing I've seen indicated it won't be a hard use tool.

We'll the ESEE line will definatly fit the bill... Ever since I got my Izula my Swamp warden has been packed away in the safe.. I use most of my ESEE's hard and they can sure take the abuse.. Soon you'll own every single one :D

i cannot let myself get the Izula because i KNOW i'll be messing with the wrap every other day....i totally dig 'em, but for the sake of my own sanity i have to keep my distance.
