On CNN this morning I saw a story about how "third world" artisans are moving into the global economy via the Internet, to everybody's benefit. Sound familiar?

Here's the link they posted on CNN:

Among other things, they showed some copper work being done in Nepal, including a brief interview with a guy whose name was a Roman-alphabet spelling variant of Bishwakarma.

I'll gladly pay you Tuesday, for a khukuri today.

Thanks for link, Jim.

Unless things have changed dramatically most of the copper work done in Nepal is not done by kamis of the Bishwakarma clan but by the Newaris, members of the Baishra caste.

And, Robert, I can tell you that for the first 6 or 8 years it was a touch and go affair! The net audience turned the corner. We were trail blazers and we are very proud of that.

:
There was some information about Canary Islands Knives in Blade a while back.
I looked around and found a website that handles them, if I stll have it?
The Canary Islands Knives are the exact opposite of khukuris as the people there Know what Thin is.
You sure coudn't pry with one of these knives. The largest part of the cost with these knives are the very ornate handles which are absolutely beautiful!!!
One of these days I am gonna have to have one of them to.
