Thanks Ark!
Just received this knife yesterday when I got back from Las Vegas. I've never seen a knife quite like this one. As most of you know this knife has a yellowish micarta handles. This knife is not in mint condition and the blade shows wear from the sheath, however no sheath came with the knife. There is also no sign of any Emerson Logo on the blade. I'm not sure if the logo has worn off or if one was not put on by Ernie when the knife was made. I'm going to be sending some correspondence to Ernie see if by chance he would make another sheath for the knife, as well as answer several questions concerning the knife.
As to answer lingering questions as to how I acquired the knife over other forumites, it was probably simply a matter of personalities connecting with my "Sniper308" handle and my past law enforcement experience that meshed with the seller. After many phone calls discussing many things other than this knife, the seller simply made mention that I was the purchaser and he would be sending it out to me.
I know several of you are dissapointed over not being able to buy this knife and I understand your feelings. Emerson knives bring out the emotions in a true collector and without those emotions probably none of us would be willing to make the purchases that we do. The hunt for that special elusive knife is what probably drives all of us. Hopefully none of you will loose that drive, for without the rest of you trying to acquire the same items the hunt looses some of its appeal!
I also received the original catalogue describing this knife as well as others which I have copied and will send to John to post for all of you to take a look at which is a little different from the other catalogues previously posted.
Photos will be up shortly as well.
Oh yeah, did anyone take notice that this knife also has a "RIGHT" hand grind?
