I want to see the "scrimshawed william henry blades"!

Well, it's written by a reporter.

Tomorrow he'll be writing about - let's say - hotels; next day about deals on computers...

etc.

im surorised he carries a poket knife in new york. wouldn't you think that he would go through many buildings and set off the alarm?

Anything that does not make us knife enthusiasts look like nutcases is a good thing. The media is usually not that nice to collectors and users of fine cutlery.

Good article.

I think the term "tactical" is thrown around way too often. What constitutes the knife as being tactical? Just curious. :)

It was fairly amazing in its attempted neutral coverage of knives/EDCers, but they seemed to really like refering to anything that wasn't an old jigged bone slipjoint as a tactical combat knife. I guess I just don't think of any of Benchmade's 3.5" folders as combat knives, or many folders at all for that matter. Unless they can defeat comm-bloc body armor and have strategically placed grooves to control you-know-what...... ;)

Ever been to New York? :)

Not many buildings with an "alarm" if you mean a metal detector. That's specialized -- high security areas mostly, and the detectors aren't used many places that have them off in a corner.

I lived and worked most of my life in NYC and spent a career in the Postal Service. We used knives on the work floor as much as in any warehouse.
