hello all,
besides the fact that the lp is smaller, what else can you guys tell me about these 2 . i plan on using it as back-up, but also for utility.
thx,
ard

I would prefer the NRGS over the LP for utility or defense JUST because of size.

I haven't seen the NRGS but the LP has a 3" blade (legal almost everywhere) and is a very good utility knife. As an emergency backup, almost any sharp, pointy object will serve

I have used both the LP and the NRGX (steel blade with Micarta handle) and they both have their merits. The LP is slightly more concealable since it lacks handle slabs. This also makes it less ergonomic (in my opinion, I wound up riveting on some 10oz leather slabs). I do prefer its drop point to the spear point on the NRG for utility use. The slightly longer, spear point blade of the NRG is a better self defence blade and the Micarta handles on the NRGX make it much more comfortable. Both are good blades and well worth the money.
