It's been a while since I've seen one of Ron's knives on the forums - he does fantastic work. This is a sweet hunter with a really nice piece of stag. Congrats on the new grab.

Great looking hunter! Surprised we don't see more of Ron's work around here. Thanks for sharing this one.

Very nice looking knife and sheath.I like the sambar stag carver handle.
Would you be using this knife?.Ron Newton puts a very fine edge on his knives. He also has a very good 52100 heat treatment. His 52100 knives take a very good edge and can are a pleasure to use in the field. The handle on your knife looks like it will be a very comfortable one. Thanks for posting.

Raj,

yes I will use it. Hopefully it's going to see some deer and wild boar this fall :). It would be a shame to let such a fine hunting knife sit in a drawer.

Hi Mr Ward, thanks for posting that nice picture of the Newton hunter.
Hope Mr Ulrich's hunter gets to play with some deer and wild boar. But hope evenmore that the other "hunter" gets to meet with some deer and hopefully an elk:D.
The hunter you posted is very comfortable in the hand and is shaving sharp.Very well done sheath with a sharkskin overlay:)
If this post looks like I am hijacking the thread,my apologies to Mr Ulrich.Just enjoyed seeing more Newton knives. Will appreciate it if Mr Ulrich would post more pictures of other Newton knives he has.

Raj,

no problems with hijacking ;) I always like to see more of Ron's work. A nice knife that you scored from him. And good luck with your hunt.

Ulrich

Ron makes some really nice hunters. I know he goes to Wyoming once a year to teach someone how to hunt and that his knives work great. Not sure that student has learned much, unfortunately.;)

Thanks for posting these.

"Utahmyagi";):D,please do be patient with the "grasshopper".The student will learn from such an esteemed teacher:D.

Like Roger said, we do not get to see enough of Ron's work here. For me, he is one of those makers whose work always impresses. I just have not seen any of his work that I would not enjoy owning. That is a stunning hunter. Congratulations.
