So I am going to making a trip soon to Smoky Mountain Knife Works and I am not sure which new Becker I am going to buy. I was leading toward the 17 but after reading more and watching some interviews and reviews I am leaning toward the 15. I like the 16 but I am more of a clip point guy. As I went on my run I spent some time thinking about it. Even though I really like the large BK's I really wouldn't use them that often. I have the 2 which I love and the weight really isn't an issue for me. I carry my 11 practically everday to work. I just got the 13 and like it just fine. So with that and knowing I really like the idea of having a good camp knife I am really leaning toward the 15. You guys have anything to say about the 15 (good and bad)?

Love my 15. I use it a lot in the kitchen to break down meats. I use it when camping as my main cook knife.

The 15 just happens to be my favorite Becker knife, so I guess I'm going to affirm that as a good choice! I cook a lot, so it get's used in the kitchen all the time. Even around camp, I end up being the camp cook and it's never let me down for anything I've used it for. It'll handle splitting small stuff into kindling (which your 2 would probably be used for anyway), but excels at food prep and small game cleaning. It will most likely be my deer skinning (and dressing) knife this year, too. I'm sure the 17 would be better at field dressing a deer, but I'm going to give the 15 the nod this season, because I like the idea of 1 knife for the whole job.
