Hello, I've been thinking what knife is next and I can't decide. So, I need your opinions. I have a EDI GEN.II ( scary sharp and tight lockup after some help from me) Buck/Strider 880 SP ( TANK,TANK,TANK ) and a BM 800HS just got and love it. I am looking at a Spydie Military or Manix, Ritter/ BM Gripie with s30v, or else? I have got $130 to spend. Help? So many decsions, so little time. :D

I think you're stuck in a rut with your knife buying. How about something completely different - traditional design, natural handles, and with some old-fashioned class? If I had $130 to spend today, I'd pick this:
http://www.agrussell.com/knives/by_type/straight/bark_river_mountaineer_with_maple_burl_handle.html
This:
http://www.agrussell.com/knives/by_type/straight/traditional_japanese_hunting_knife.html
Or this:
http://www.agrussell.com/knives/by_maker/l_through_r/paragon_knives/paragon_drop_point_hunter.html

Happy Shopping!

i've heard nothing but good stuff about the spydie manix. plus, the way spydie textures their g10 feels like grip tape, & those handle ergos/guard on that knife is definitely a rare thing to see on factory folders. combine that with that big belly s30v blade & voila, you've got my next EDC.

You can pick up a Manix for about $122(total) at New Graham. Plus the free bandaids!!! :D I got mine from them last week, great customer service as always.....

What do you need it for?

The Military and the Manix, for example, are alike in many ways, but the Millie is lighter weight and a slimmer, sharper blade.

Since you already have a BM, hold off on the Griptilian. You already have a Buck/Strider, so hold off on the Manix. Get the Military. It's a big knife but you hardly know it's there, just a very durable razor sharp blade. Of all of them, it's the most different from what you already have.

I was also looking into a Rat Trap from Swamp rat Knives. I have heard they are excellent. :)

I'm with Bob W. All of those little fixed blades look sweet! But if it's a folder then I've also heard a lot more good than bad about the Manix. The Rat Trap folder is a bit thin and light for my taste...this is subjective since I've never handled one....but a lot of good things are being said.
