What would all you more experienced Busse crazed owners say would be the most useful model for general carry and usage in the woods? I'm thinking a blade of 5" or so would be good. I tend to prefer an uncoated blade...

So tell me, aside from the Boss Jack LE that I'm waiting for, what might be my next Busse purchase?

i guess an ash would fit the bill. you have fat .32ish", plain .25ish, skinny .19ish . nice working blade, good handle. really you should ask an expert, good luck allthe same.

CGBATAC is my favorite smaller user Busse in the 5" blade range...although they come coated. The LE version is satin finished, but a fatty at .270" which I like, but for times when I'm just bumming around and it stays sheathed for the most part, the CG is considerably lighter at 3/16th" and you could always strip it.

If you have an XL hand and really want to stick to a 5" range and satin you will be hard pressed to find a bettter knife than the SAR4 LE/SE (or a SAR6 LE/SE if you want a usable choil)... Seems that all the guys with catchers mitts for hands love the SAR handles :D

Just curious - the BJ LE is about 5.5" of usable blade - why not just use that as a woods knife and go for a bigger Busse like a CGFBM or B11 to pair with the BJ for a do anything duo...?

EDIT: Here you go - the SAR6 SAR4 and SAR8 are in this shot so you can check out the handles - 2nd pic, post #17 (LVC saves the day again :D):
