Have a Grimsmo Norseman and I'm getting a Pohan Leu Hamachi soon, and will have some disposable income after a couple of recent knife sales so I want to keep adding to the new and improved collection. But what? Thoughts on my mind-

Tighe
Hinderer
Marfione DOC (little more)
Gavko Mako
Olamic Wayfarer

And a few others like Rockstead or Shirogorov but those would require a little more saving. What do you guys think? Any other suggestions would be welcome and encouraged, but please don't say generic answers like Sebenza or Strider. Sebenzas are a little plain for me, and I had a Strider for a while and wasn't feeling it. :)

You won't be getting a custom RHK in the $600.00 range!

Check out the El Patron by Jeremy Robertson.
You can pick one up in the $600.00's and it's one hell of a custom knife.

Might be the best knife for the money, IMO....

Greg Lightfoot will make you an awesome knife for around that much. It's only 6 months wait too. I'm on his books for a folder in 3V and carbon fiber.

You could also find a very nice Elishewitz or Lambert in that price range.

His books are open? Sweet, I'm going to email him about a Full Contact Fighter. Those things are awesome.

I'd want an olamic bravado improvisation #007 ^
It's funny because I think olamic is 15minute drive from my house

Brian Tighe makes one hell of a knife. Intoxicatingly beautiful too. If you have large hands, beware the small, curved handled models like the mini Tighe Rod. The Olamic Wayfarer is gorgeous as well. Wish I had this kind of money.

If you can find Randy Doucette piece they are around that price range and very awesome looking. I can't remember the name of the one that really gets me but its carbon fiber, ti-bolstered and has a harpoon grind, just beautiful.

From your list:
Tighe - pure showpieces... stunning. range in prices depending on model

Hinderer - functional but more simplistic in aesthetic design... one of my favorite knives is the skinner btw. can disassemble and customize which is a big plus for me

Marfione DOC (little more) - had an auto for a little while. very cool looking but strider spear shaped and VERY heavy.

Gavko Mako - I'm not familiar with his work

Olamic Wayfarer - Olamic Wayfarer will be my next knife... I've ogled them from afar long enough. Excellent customer service, and I have yet to hear of anyone disappointed in the quality/craftsmanship. I also think it's the most bang for your buck as some of what you listed can't be had for $600 as far as I've seen.

I like Doucette designs- never see any on the market though. Are his books open?

I agree Calavera El Patron or Model 4 would be worth a look.
