Hello Andy,
I searched this but was unable to find an answer.

I would like to know if your custom shop can install one of the New Generation Acetal handles on my Rogers' Rangers Field Grade Spike Tomahawk...If so, how much?

By the way, I dearly love my Tactical Grade Vietnam Tomahawk. It has become my "car hawk"...I keep it near my hand as I drive. It is, along with my 1911, quite comforting.

Thanks Andy,
Harry

Ranger1,

Is this what you're talkin about?

Andy is such a good bud of mine, he gave me this one for free...
just kiddin :D

I must say, that hawk does look nice with the NG handle :)

Yes, that is what I am looking for, however I am waiting for Andy to tell me if ATC can do it or not.

I want to keep my warranty and they do great work...and most of all, I trust him!

Harry

Harry,

I'll check with Andy this morning on it - give me a call on the toll-free 877/557-5200, or email me at ATCCustSvc@hotmail.com with your phone number and I can call you or we can answer you by email.

You are too funny Rob! :D That thing made me do a double-take! I almost called Justin and said, "...hey, when did we freakin' do that?" ;)

Anyway, the Next Generation Acetal handle is not available on the Rogers' Rangers Hawk...even from the custom shop. Two reasons primarily....#1 - we don't have enough demand to make them available as an option for that model, #2 - as the Rogers' Rangers Hawks are hand forged, they just don't hold same tolerances as our machined Hawks, so, each handle would have to be hand fitted to the Hawk head.

Now, our custom shop DOES offer laminated exotic wood handles which are extremely strong. Further, we laminate unidirectional glass in the core of the wood to make it as unbreakable as possible. These handles are also hand fitted to each head.

Our custom shop man, Mike Fedora Jr., (of Big East Custom Bow fame...), now works under contract for the American Tomahawk Company and will be creating a profile here at BladeForums to talk about this new handle technology in wood.

Hey Andy, Thanks. I also want to let you know I replied to your e-mail in case you didn't get it... just so ya know I didn't ignore ya. From what I read a decent amount of people have trouble contacting you via e-mail... you should talk to your webmaster/server and get an andy@americantomahawk.com e-mail address! Those rarely fail! Just a suggestion :)

btw, I must give credit to Louis Buccellato making it possible for me to make the "Buck Rogers meets Robert Rogers" photo. I used one of his photos in his album on-line and butchered it to make that! Gotta give credit where credit's due!

LOL - You even had me fooled, Rob. I called Andy to ask about the question posted here and when he said we couldn't do it I asked how you got one! Ya gotta admit that head/handle combo looks great together!!

Give me a call about the exotic handles available for these forged pieces.

They DO look great together! I'm glad I fooled ya guys - its a compliment to my photo editing abilities! You guys should try to make ONE somehow and have a contest for it! :) what a rare and sought after piece that would be! Of course, since I showed you guys the light I'd want one too :D

I know I know :p

Can't wait to see that upcoming NG utilitarian hawk!
