next generation ranger / vietnam tomahawk??

looking to buy 2 tomahawks for use arround the place I like the looks of the next generation ranger BUT it seems like the vietnam is what everyone talks about I previously bought a cold steel vietnam tomahawk and well was not impressed at all . Could someone please give me info on the difference and pros and cons of which would be the more useful It will be carried daily probably horseback used for camp chores and to help in butchering . I have been waiting till the next generations are back in production but it is getting hard to wait especially after looking at the custom hawks that have been picture here recently. They look fantastic

That is not surprising. The VT tac by ATC is not the same as the one made by CS. They are not even close. The ATC model is fast, light and sharp, it is extremely durable and will become a fast favorite when it comes to "tactical hawks". The VT tac is a good place to start for anyone who is tired of import junk, and other hawks that just don't put out. There are probably 100+ posts in this forum from people who have made the same decision you are currently mulling. If you search them you will see that there has been alot of people that ATC and VT Tac have turned into true believers. You won't regret it.

Yes, I agree the Next Generation Ranger Hawk doesn't get much talk. I have both, the Vietnam Tach & the Next Gen. They are both great and I really love my Next Gen. It is a super Hawk and the only hawk out there with a head/handle junction guarantee. For camping purposes, I would take my Next Gen hawk.

Both Hawk are great...depends on your personal preference.

I really like the Veitnam hawks. Great design!!! Andy could even customize you one to fit your needs.

I have both, but, if I were only going to get one, get the Next Gen. It is an age old question. Both are better quality than anything you will find by Cold Steel. The reason the VT is so widely talked about is because they are great, and less expennsive, thus.... more people have them (the VT that is). But, if you had to choose, and had one in each hand, and money was not an option. The answer is.... buy the Next Gen.
