Great small knives. I have a rainbow chive and it works perfectly as a "suit" knife. You can slip it into the inside pocket of your jacket and it's guaranteed not to scare the sheeple. Cricket is much the same.

I bought a Chive and loved it, so I immediately replaced with with a nicer black Boron coated Chive. But after EDCing it at work for several months, I found it would occasionally open in my pocket. Besides that, the softer stainless didn't hold an edge like the "super steels" in most of my other folders.

I gave the Chive to a buddy who liked it and bought a Cricket. The VG-10 is wonderful steel, and that's a good thing... the blade shape of the Cricket makes it a bit of a PITA to sharpen.

I retired the Cricket to the knife drawer and now carry a Delica in ZDP189 for my work EDC.

But to pick between the two, I'd take the Cricket every time.

Both are good knives, but the cricket is nicer, since it has better steel which means less sharpening. If you're planning on sharpening at home they may both be difficult with the blade shapes though... you might want to consider a Spyderco Spin as well, with it's nice wharnie blade. I've got one myself, and I love it.

But between the two, I'd take the Cricket personally. The acid etched models are nice for the added grip and looks.
