So I'm usually pretty self-motivated when it comes to knife purchases... I find something I like, I look into it a bit to make sure it's not crap, and then buy it. I'm encountering a problem with my next purchase, though. I just keep justifying NOT buying a knife based on some little nitpick.

I'm looking for a folder with decent steel (440C +), G10 or Micarta handles, liners of some sort, 3.5" blade and a price under $130. A closed-back design is also a plus. The Spyderco Manix would be perfect, but it's too big. I know there's a smaller version in the works, but I don't want to wait.

Suggestions?

I am going to get a Emerson SOCFK. It it close to your price.
Go to the Emerson site, and look under exclusive designs.

Collector, that one looks interesting... One thing I don't like about most Emersons is the chisel grind, which isn't used on one of those models. I'm a bit hesitant about the look, though... I work in a big room of cubicles, and having something that tactical isn't quite kosher. Interesting knife all the same.

I have been very happy with my Benchmade Griptillian 551 with 440C blade. I never thought thah I would get or use a Benchmade but a lot of people on this forum seem to like 'em so I tried. It has been my EDC for over six months now and I like it more every day. I used it to dig weeds out of the lawn today. Cleaned, sharpened and oiled quickly and easily and back iwb. Good luck with your search.

What about a Benchmade Resistor, Gravitator, or Hybrid? They all use 154CM and G10 and have blades 3.5 inches long. The Hybrid may not be available at discounter's sites yet.
