Next RAT, Which one?

OK I got my Izula about two weeks ago and now I want another RAT. I am really wanting a HEST, but the RC-3 looks good too. I want something I can use hunting and maybe EDC but don't need anything YET that will be capable of doing a lot of hard chopping. Anyone have any comparison pics of the HEST and the RC-3? Also hopefully I am getting close to my 25 posts so I can get my RP#...

Your gonna buy them all :) So get the Hest and keep posting then get the forum knife because it's a deal and has your ## :)
 
Iron mike has a good point. It sounds like you need the RC-3 but you'll want them all so you could just get the HEST and hold out for the Forum knife if that's your thing. I'm just guessing the RC-3 would be a better hunting knife because it's thinner with less frills. BTW I got an RC-4 about a week ago and already ordered an Izula also.
 
I would get the RC 3 over the HEST, but that is only if you want it for gutting animals and such. If it is for all around, HEST or RC 3 would be fine.
 
Maybe the hunting scenario was not the best...

I guess I really wanted some encouragement on choosing one over the other. I may order the HEST now and get the forum knife when I get my number...

I think you just answered your question. If this is a want rather than a need then get what you want. Of course, eventually, you need them all.
 
I think the HEST is best for EDC, you get that full sized blade and a very solid grip yet still a very slim profile. I EDC front pocket and it's like it isn't even there. Blade thickness is the same, same edge style, it can take the same beating that an RC3 can. It's just a slighter profile with that added bottle opener feature (which don't let anyone lie to you, gets used ALOT)
 
I personally like the RC-3 out of all of them. Although I don't actually own any of them.
 
I agree that the RC-4 and Izula are an excellent pair!
Deciding between the HEST and 3 would be tough... personally, I dig the RC-3, but I have used it more so that may be why.
 
well so far I have the RC6, RC5 (favorite) and the HEST, I had an RC4 but sold it. I too want to collect them all, next up is an RC3 for my daughter and of course the forum knife for me and probably score another RC4 to hang on to. Not sure about the IZULA or not, the HEST kind of works for me but I may get one cause they are priced right and I do want a complete set.
 
I have a Rc5 ,Rc4 and Izula, next 4 or so days I get an Rc3 , Rc6 , and another Izula , if MR postie brings me my stuff....

The Rc4 is the favorite so far

I have an Izula and RC4, but am also asking myself which one comes next?.......thought about the RC3, but I think the HEST will win out when the time comes.
 
For hunting & EDC... I say go with the RC4. The RC3 & Izula are too close in blade size with the HEST right in between. The RC4 just a little longer than the HEST and thicker than the RC3. The RC4 is a great all arounder....
