I currently only own two Spyderco knifes. The domino and the para2. I have also recently bought a zt 0801 and a zt 0350. I feel the build quality on the Spyderco's and ZT's to be pretty comparable IMO. I find myself constantly going back to the domino and para2 for the simple fact they are fun to deploy with their opening holes. So all that said what would you suggest my next Spyderco purchase should be? I currently use my knifes for light EDC tasks. Opening mail, cutting plastic, cardboard etc. I won't be cutting tree branches or trying to cut through car doors any time soon.

I'm going to hijack this and tell you about my next Spydercos...I have a Southard and a Matriarch Wave coming!

I'm buying the Southard because of 3 main reasons: size, flipper, Spyderco....all things I like. I ordered the Matriarch mainly because I'm intrigued by the design, I have never seen one in person but I like wave openers and I got a great deal on what is a fairly uncommon model. Not all Spyderco models appeal to me, but they have a model that fits pretty much any need/requirement of almost all customers.

Gayle Bradley is great, I just sold mine though. Not because it wasnt perfect, it just never made its way into my pocket.

Id really suggest a military though. I personally like it much more than the paramilitary.

Gayle Bradley or zdp-189 delica/stretch/endura

Do the ZDP versions of those have the lamination line like the Caly 3? I didn't see it in any of the photos; I had assumed that they decided to make the entire blade from ZDP.

The Delica, Stretch, and Endura are solid ZDP, no lamination lines.

Wow this is one of the few cases where a doengrade to a cheaper knife is in order!

I would go for a caly 3 or 3.5, regular deluca or a sprint run delica.

Those two knives screwed up my whole perception of knife buying. Before them I was buying increasingly more expensive knives. Now not so much.

The delica even though it can be picked up for around $55 is essentially a perfect lightweight carry edc to alot of people with not alot of fuss. And the caly's scales are a lot like what you would think an upgraded delica would be.

I would suggest what others have already mentioned, the Endura and Delica in ZDP-189.

Native Lightweight is still one of my favorites. You could also try the new Manix 2 in S110V, at a surprisingly low $110.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! It looks like the Endura and the Delica in ZDP-189 take the cake based on my current spydercos.

Why do you all feel these two are the next best options?

IMO the Spyderco Military is one of the best designs ever, and a must have(for me anyway).

No other company that I know of makes a 4" bladed flat ground slicing demon folder that weights only 4 oz with Carbon Fiber, and 4.25 oz with G10. The large handle also gives you many grip options for different cutting situations.

It and the Sebenza are by far my favorite modern knife designs.

I'd love to have one but a 3.5" blade length is the longest I can legally carry in Colorado.

Arbitrary, unjust laws are meant to be "broken". Besides, as long as you use common sense while carrying it, nothing should ever happen. I wish I lived in Colorado

I'm a bit surprised that Colorado has a limit that short. What about openly carried fixed blades? Or have the limp wristed pothead liberals gotten to those too?
