Howdy guys!


I am new to the forum, and just ordered my GB. Found a new on sale over at KnifeForums (I don't know if this is a bad word here.... :) ) I have been reading the Strider forum here for the last few weeks, and read all (almost) al the posts on the page. I still have not actually held a Strider, but I will real soon!!!! Yes!!!

I have been colecting knives since I was twelve, but only have stock items, nothing special at all. I have to thank Mick and Duane for ,making such beatiful tools,as I have really been getting in to researching all of the awesome custom/semi-custom knives out there. I had no idea. I am looking forward to chatting with you all here in the forum.

I was wondering what you guys can advise me to do next? I was reading S.W.A.T magazine, and saw the pictures of the GB there. I knew right then and there that I was going to own one. Basically, now I am wondering which way to go next. I don't make a whole load of $$$, but I think Striders are worth every penny (from EVERYTHING I have read) But, I see that there are the WP's for $150.00 and the smaller conSEALable ones with kydx/teklok sheaths for $250.00. Do you guys think I should wait a little longer an get one of the full size bad boys? I like the look of the MH and MT.

I am not in the military, so won't b using it THAT hard, I will be using it for Hunting/Fishing/Camping, etc... Also, if I decide to get a smaller one first, how do you fellas like the kydex sheath they come with?

Better wrap this up,I don't want to bore you guys to tears. Lok forward to gettin to know you all, and..... I promise not to be a TROLL !!!!

Welcome Dave to our madness!

So many Striders to choose from...You've done good in ordering the folder. If you like the MT and MH by all means save up and get one. A full sized fixed blade will make a nice compliment to the folder.

If you like the tanto style like the GB, you might like a WB or BT. I have a WB and it's great. Good luck in your search for your next purchase. If you hang out here long enough, you'll see some other cool things that you will want. Here's a tip for you: If you like a blade and want it and someone has it to sell, buy it because it may not come around again for a while.

Thanks for the welcome, Sidewinder... Definitely looking forward to the "madness". Thanks for the advice on getting the full size. I guess I can use a big knife for most everything I could do with a small knife anyway, but can't do everything that a big knofe can do with a small one..

dont even bother deciding which one to buy next, just buy them as they come along, because lets face it, your eventually going to own EVERY single one at some point in time.
i started out with the MFS and the WP, and i was satisfied with those two for about a month. then i just went on this buying frenzy and now i have 9 of em and hopefully by the end of next week ten :D

i guess the upside is that your wallet is going to be nice and light now. i hardly even carry mine anymore, theres never any money in it:)

oh yeah, get the WP2T tanto next, its awesome.
 
well, if you're looking for something to carry I'd recommend Mick's Axe ... it'll make you popular with the sheeples :D
