You know what i love about cocobolo. Is that it reminds me of chocolate. Anyone else know what i mean?

Hmmm....
I have no idea what you're talking about. Chocolate?
Nice looking scales though.

That wood is going to look superb when it's done, can't wait to see the end results.

When you use high speed tools the wood mixed with the oils in it almost melt it away and it looks like chocolate.

So more pics are up. I didn't get to finish it today. Maybe tomorrow. I want to make some sort of design on the handles but I dont know what i should do. As of right now I dont like them because they're too plain. If I dont end up liking them I might do a giveaway. Anyways. Thanks for looking. Stay tuned for the final product.

That's not the hardest stuff out there...but that stuff is hard!

What tools have you been using?

Very nice. Cocobolo is my favorite for gun grips. I should have a set to match the 1911!

I like chocolate and I like cocoblo, so it all sounds good to me. Nice looking grain on the wood. I bet they feel a bunch better than the naked steel.

I've got a bench grinder and a dremel (with work station). I might try this. Just got to get some wood.

Alright. Have been busy but they're almost done. Decided not to do any other shaping on them. So that'll pretty much be what they'll end up looking like.

Wow, they look so good. Congrats on the almost final product. I was never good at wood work and envy those that are!

So they're done. They feel great in the hand but I'm just not too into them. They ended up too plain for what I originally had in mind. With that being said, I think I'm going to send them to a new home. The question is, should I start a new thread for the giveaway or continue on this one? And if I continue on this one can I change the title of the thread?

Great job on those. I find it's hard to love the stuff I make too. All I can see is the mistakes. Nice looking Kydex there too.

I know cocobolo doesn't need it, but have you tried oiling them? Might spruce 'em up a bit.
It's a bit more work, but I 3D-shaped my mycarta 24 scales with a palm swell and thinner toward the front and rear.
May help you love 'em.
Of course, they look awesome and very comfy as they are and we Beckerheads always love a good giveaway.

Wow having just the inserts inside the skeletin part looks real nice too good job

Dude those are amazing looking. What the crap are you talking about? They look plenty fancy to me. If I had that Becker, I'd be raising my hand for those bad boys.

i think they came out and look great. very nice job. we all are our own worst critics. i'm sure someone else would love to have em if you decide to pass them along. great job though.
