There are only 80 Caio, you can find them on ebay or asking Molletta ( on this forum, he is the designer).;)

He likes to live dangerously. Nice work. How was the edge after the concrete impacts?

-Cliff

Yes,
I'm an outdoor 's man:p

After the concrete test, no chips or other signs on the edge. The Caio still shave hairs on my harm ( not like before, but it works).
The knife still have the factory edge and I want to see when I'll be oblige to resharp it :D

Anyway, according with the steel composition, the test that stressed more the edge was the cutting of antenna wire ( picture number 4). After 50 cuttings, I saw under magnification the edge very light rolled.

I 'm expectant to see your test , Cliff. ;)
I want to compare your results with mine and read your opinions on knife and steel :D

that is absolutely the cheapest and weakest concrete I have ever seen. It literally exploded when the blade hit it. They make concrete much different where I live.

This whole thread is like an infomercial :D

I do like the design of the knife, kinda reminds me of Mission and Mad Dog ATAK style. The handle does not look to confortable and the screws look like they could hurt your hand during chopping, which is why I presume there is tape over the screws in one of the pics.

The concrete was not very solid, but I just found it where I went for a picnic so I decide to use it. If yours are better, just send me one of them to make some test ;)
The most important things is the status of edge after all tests ( chopping on concrete, chopping on wood, cutting bone ecc...) and I can tell you that it was perfect.

The handle is comfortable, the Nema FR5 is like G10. The screw don't hurt hands ( I have not signs on mine after many hours of use) . The tape on handle is an experiment thet I did to try if increasing grip can improve it. After some cuts, I decide to eliminate it ;)

Anyway, Cliff 'll be able to confirm o refute my conclusions :D

I have seen cliff do this with his knife to increase te grip.

I have seen cliff do this with his knife to increase te grip.

In fact, he gave me the idea with his test. But after some test, I decide that the grip of the Caio don't need an improvement ;)

PS I hope you can excuse me for my english, I need to improve it :(

Nice carving and hang time. As a note, it would be helpful to have another knife for some of the work such as the concrete so as to compare the level of durability as concrete can vary a lot in hardness/strength.

-Cliff

Thanks Cliff ;)

For comparing I can use a Swamp Rar Battle Rat, but I need to find an other concrete the next time I'll go in that place :p

But have you made some new test on Nexus Caio? When will we be able to see them ? ;)
I'm expectant to know what do you think about it :D

I have a Nexus Caio and altough the handle looks uncomfortable it's one of the most comfortable +6" knives i own. The finger coil on the Nexus is deeper than on most other knives i've handled so the choke up grip is very comfortable and secure.
