NG Ranger Report

As you know a few days ago I received my Next Generation Ranger Tomahawk. Because of delays I recieved it a few months late; after the delay, the hype I've heard about the hawk, the excellent reviews and everything else, I was expecting A LOT out of the NG Ranger. I never thought it could be better than I expected - but it was. It is unbelievable - The first time I threw it at my hawk block, not only did it stick with ease, it buried itself over 3" deep!!! None of the other hawks I have used could come close. This thing throws itself and penetrates to the max! I made a few triple turn throws... and missed a few. The ones I missed went flippin' and flying, hitting everything in it's way. After few days of total torture and abuse, the NG Ranger handle and head are as sturdy as ever and begging for more. It is still razor sharp and it has bitten me more than once - the first time any hawk has done that. It barely touched me both times and made my skin spread and the blood pour like Moses spreading the Red Sea! The NG Ranger is the best tomahawk of any I have ever used! And I have used a lot! Including the Eagle Talon. Anyone else been feelin' the same about theirs?

I took my new Next Gen Ranger out and tossed it around yesterday. I think my sons are going to collaborate and steal it from me. They are also very impressed. Beautiful throws, great penetration in the white walnut target we use. I missed once, and it stuck - well, actually went thru - my metal shed. Seriously. We couldn't believe it. My sons howled.

So did my wife, except her smile was turned upside down...

Yes, I am also an honorary member of the "Wearer of the Bandaid" clan, as the lower hook got my index finger whilst sharpening the hawk at the end of the afternoon. I should have listened to my doctor when he said that I should stay away from sharp objects...

Great fun, though.
