I am interested in the ng spikehawk. But looking through the threads it seems like there are some upset people. If I place and order how long will it be before I can go out and attack a grizzle with one?

On there website it states that it will be from 2 to 6 weeks for delivery. I just got mine ! Very nice.

Just a quick heads up. I am gonna post more shortly(When I get a little time to myself) I have to tell you, I just received my NG ranger spiked hawk and it is absolutely incredible!! Even if the wait is longer than you would like it to be, IT IS WORTH IT! I have "played" with a lot of 'hawks and I can honestly say that NOTHING out there compares to it. Without thinking another thought, order one! When it arrives, you will understand what I am talking about.

I have taken some pics of mine and have done a little throwing(10 minutes) with it. I will post the pics and my further thoughts within the next few days.

hey thanks for the input. i like the idea of solid construction. doing it the traditional way of hammering out the material doesn't give me alot of faith as far as strength and durability. but can anyone tell me if it really makes a difference using a synthetic material for the handle versus wood? and if it does make a difference is there another material that could even be stronger? if i get one of these i'd like to be able to pass it on to my son and not much seems to survive him.

I know of some folks who are excited about a polycarbonate material which might be stronger.

What's unfortunate however is that these folks have a dim future and will probably not be able to bring it to light, or otherwise offer it for very long. Too bad when you think about it...

Anyway, thanks for your post mtwolverine.

I've had very few purchases that I am as happy with as my NG Ranger Hawk. Just the satisfaction you get from holding and staring at the thing is worth the price. I've been playing with mine for a couple of months now and can assure you that it will take the abuse of throwing, chopping etc... It was a little hard ( psychologically )for me, to hurl a $300 tomahawk at a stack of tree stumps the first couple of times, but once you get past that and start to use it you learn to appreciate the thing even more. Order one and forget about it, then be pleasantly surprised when the big brown truck finally delivers it.
