Almost everything I've found online says NH residents can't carry knives... But they can, in fact, carry guns without a license. I'm asking because as a female who likes walking at night, walking without a knife is pretty damn irresponsible.

Any help would be much appreciated, as I've spent the last three hours with useless information from Google...

In particular, what the maximum blade length permitted is; I've heard anywhere from four inches to six to none at all. I've also heard "two inches", which is about as helpful under attack as "none at all" would be.

No person shall carry a loaded pistol or revolver in any vehicle or concealed upon his person, except in his dwelling, house or place of business, without a valid license therefore as hereinafter provided. A loaded pistol or revolver shall include any pistol or revolver with a magazine, cylinder, chamber or clip in which there are loaded cartridges. Whoever violates the provisions of this section shall, for the first such offense, be guilty of a misdemeanor. For the second and for each subsequent violation of the provisions of this section, such person shall be guilty of a class B felony, provided such second or subsequent violation has occurred within 7 years of the previous conviction.
Under all, or at least nearly all circumstances, you need a permit to carry a handgun in NH. It is very affordable, and easy to get a permit if you are a law abiding individual.

I could be wrong, but I think you're thinking of Vermont, the only State in the Union that doesn't require a permit for concealed carry of a handgun.

New Hampshire requires a licence, although unlike Taxattushetts, you can actually get one.

Not a lawyer - take this advice with a grain of salt, but I believe New Hampshire allows open carry of a pistol without a permit by anyone legally allowed to own a firearm. You can take a look at packing.org for a more authoritative voice.

My NH CCW permit took about three weeks to arrive.

Sorry - can't help you with NH knife law. It's hard to imagine it's very restrictive. Almost every man in the state has a folder clipped to their pocket, it seems.
