NIB knife scuff marks

Hi, I am wondering if a NIB knife from a dealer could have some scuff marks on the handle (anodised alumininium) ? The knife is a BM.

When I got my 722 a bit back in the day, I went through three "unopened" boxes and on every one, the paint on the clip screws were all busted up. Strange, so I guess it is possible. :confused:
