Whoo! 1891 to 1926, and from St John, Nouveau Brunswick. This baby might have seen use to build the iconic Bluenose schooner that is featured on every Canadian dime! Does go to show that a maker's stamp can turn a flea market novelty into something with a real history and story behind it. I have one of these in excellent condition, obtained 30 years ago, from the Estate of the Rideau Canal Lockmaster who operated and maintained the locks next to the Parliament Buildings during the 1930s40s but it has no stamps on it which is a real shame and relegates it to 'user' rather than desireable 'collector'.
