The other thing I noted in Blade magazine yesterday was an article about the legalities of knives by Mr. Fowler. Now, I can't say that I agree with Mr. Fowler much when it comes to taste in knives, he seems to have a thing for the old, ugly and mishapen but he did turn out a VERY nice article about how to deal with a police officer when carrying a knife (or a gun for that matter). Thanks Ed!

I usually read Ed's articles first. He always picks out subjects that hit home to me and always writes with wisdom finding a way to be very inclusive of all types of knives and styles and even when they are not what he prefers when it comes to what his passion leads him to as far as the style he specializes in. Ed seems to be able to make room in our world for everything related to knives.
He along with jackknife add much to my enjoyment and "education".

I love Ed's writing--full of insights--and I also like the design of his knives which to me are the epitome of 'form follows function.'

His pricing is out of my league however. To me, when you start talking thousands for a knife, you are getting into Elvis' lock-of-hair territory, and I would not be one to buy that either, no matter how much dough I had. To each his own, however.

He has a way with words, the same that he has a way with his knives. Great guy ! I really enjoy talking with him although the only chance I get to meet him in person is at shows. If you guys ever had a chance to see him, make sure to say hi. You'll enjoy talking with him.

A bit off topic, but you have some nice blades. Good work.

Ironically looking at Stephen's blades I think Ed would like them a lot... maybe they are related... :) OH! Stephen I'm not saying your blades are ugly or mishapen or anything, I'm just noting that they look like they are made to be used and function well and that's something Ed seems to love.

Same here. Ed's articles are what I go for first in any new Blade magazine. I also have his books Knife talk I & II. He has a way to put his passion in words.

And he makes nice knives too!

Ed's the reason I finally got a subscription to BLADE. Missed a couple, and decided to make sure I don't miss anymore.

thx - cpr

I don't have any of his knives, but I have really enjoyed his books (and the articles in Blade). As mentioned, he's great to talk to...

I thank you for the kind words gentlemen, I feel a close bond with the readers of Blade.

We tend to think of knife rights and gun rights, but it all comes down to Civil Rights, if we don't exercise them we will lose them and America will never be what she could have been.

Part III will be in the Blade Show issue.
