I read this story in the morning. Very good information on the scramseax. For such an important artifact there is not much out there. Nice picts. of the different style blades also.

The broken back makes me wonder if it was used edge up like the old broken back bowies.

The wedging action of the clip would then work for you by forcing the edge up on a thrust instead of down. You could use it to stab up under the breastbone and into the heart.

Just a thought.
