am I right, I say its mounted upside down?

Swampers are tough to tell sometimes. I'd take a caliper and measure the outside of the eye top and bottom and see what you find. That may or may not reveal something.

I say upside down, smooth curve should be on the the top, sharper angled curve on the bottom. It just looks better aesthetically.

I'm going to say... Yes it's hung upside down.
I only have one swamper (a Collins Legitimus). I had a hard time figuring out that one myself.
The way I finally decided which way was right was to look at a couple other Legitimus axes that I have.
The 'C' in Collins faced up. So it looks to me that the 'S' in Stilleto should be facing up as well.

I vote hung upside down. However, I bet if you flip it over you wouldn't notice any difference in performance.

I have 2 Stiletto hewing axes, both have the S at the bottom? I would measure the eye.

Upside down. You've got a great looking axe there.

But now I'm confused. I didn't realize that Stiletto had a link with True Temper/Kelly Works. I have a Stiletto DB without the TT stamp and I think it's one of the best axes I've ever set a file to. I also have a 4-lb. Stiletto single bit near the top of my to do list. I've kinda got a soft spot for them as they were one of the few West Coast axe makers.

Anyone know how/when Stiletto got connect with True Temper?
