Nice boots for office setting

I'd like a pair of boots that I can wear and not get my feet wet and cold for short walks from the parking lot, etc., but that look good and can be worn all day. Basically, a light weight boot. It doesn't have to stand up to harsh conditions, but winter in VT ain't no picnic.

I could just wear boots and change into dress shoes, but then I wouldn't have an excuse to buy something new.

I like the looks of the Bates Navy boot, but they are steel toe, and I have to go through metal scanners regularly.

I have a pair of 8" Danner Stinger boots that are pretty light and comfortable - and they take a decent shine with minimal effort.
Not sure if they still make that pattern, but the Striker II is pretty similar looking.

i have been wearing the Aussie made "Redback" boots for many years now... they're great.. i think the black ones, high top or low top, would work well for the ofice.. www.rebackboots.com

I just got a pair of Irish setter boots at cabelas. Irish setter is a branch of red wing boots. They look snazy and work great in the winter (I use them here in Michigan).

I've very happily worn Berghaus Trek GTX boots for years and they're smart enough for formal wear (well, my type of formal wear!) and being Goretex, are fully waterproof and breathable.

They've withstood twelve hours of rain and/or broiling temperatures whilst keeping my feet happy, and easily clean up after muddy or snowy walking.

After several years (everyday wear) I'm still asked "New Boots?"

I've got Danner Explorers and these are suitable for your situation. They look great in the office environment and also stand up to mud, slush and everything else you may encounter away from the office.

What about something like this? I've had the 8053 model for YEARS, many of which delivery driving in Michigan winters, and they are still nice enough to function as my dressy (but not a suit) footwear.
