Nice find last friday

To my knowledge Al Buck made this knife in his backyard shop and his wife made the sheath.Time frame 1940's.If i'm off on this,someone let me know.
 
Yes,it does resemble a 102 a lot.I just got lucky.Almost overlooked it at a large trade day show.I saw the Morena street and nearly fainted..lol...I couldn't get the money in the sellers hand fast enough.I don't think it's ever been resharpened!

What is the blade length and overall length? Also, I think it might be a bit later than the 1940s, maybe mid-1950s. Someone will eventually come along and correct me.

Absolutely awesome survivor. I'm guessing early-mid 60's. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will chime in...
 
Lignum Vitae handle(polished up like marble)Blade shows a few marks that it was once a file!No,this baby is EARLY.Not a factory knife.
 
Just my speculation. Buck Knives wasn't officially "Buck Knives Co." until they incorporated in 1961, and prior to '61, blades were stamped with individual letter stamps. The started using a single "BUCK" stamp on the blades in '61 as well.

I hope I'm wrong...

Yes,this say Buck Knife Co.And the letters aren't perfectly lined up.
 
I'd like for Joe Howser or CJ to take a look and give an opinion.A very knowledgeable collector of early Buck and trusted friend gave me the mid to late 40's estimate.

I can say this, it is old and it is sized like a 102. And yes, it is a hand made. Guard yourself you will have inquires. 300

Yes it is.I've been too lazy tonight to get it out and lay a ruler on it,but it's around 8 and 4".I would have no clue as to how to price this knife.
