I spent this past weekend at my son's Scout Camp. One thing I noticed though. My Dozier K1 was the only fixed blade knife there. Some of the dads had Buck, Schrade or Case folders all on their belts. But by and large, most of the dads had whatever no-name discount knife they could get their hands on. I couldn't believe a few didn't even really know what they had on their belt. While helping in the kitchen, I set the knife down on the counter, turned around and it was gone. It wasn't stolen, it was making the rounds! I used a Lansky to sharpen a few of the knives that some of the guys thought were beyond help. I tried to point out the difference in good steel and not-so-good stuff. I even sold a couple of dads on something by Spyderco or Gerber. To think that some of these guys are mechanics or something and wouldn't think twice about spending thousands on tools but then spend pennies on a cutting tool. I think the Blackjack will be going in June.
