  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

We didn't go anywhere, the kids all had plans and we just took it easy. We went out for a hike through the park and had a small cook out. Walked down along the river for a ways then found a nice spot to cook. This is a really nice park right in the middle of town, you will never find any trash laying around and there are so few people here to use it. I had my EDC stuff with me.

The weather was perfect except as always, it was a bit windy. The wife brought the cooking stuff out. A meal fit for a king. Throw your steak on, the coals are still just right.:)

The good news is that after a very short layoff, the wife is back to work today, That is good and bad I guess, we enjoyed her week off.

Glad to hear your wife is back to work Jim  Looked like a fine relaxing day out!

Beautiful day indeed. Brats, beans, and fixings here made for good eats. Thanks for sharing pics.

This is a great park, It is about 30 acres right along the James River and right in the middle of town. Everything you need to practice your woods skills is there. Right now we can't have open fires because we have had zero rain since the floods were over, One extreme to the other. We have to use the grills although we can use wood in them.

That is a S&W Extreme ops. I have edc this knife for about seven years, the thing in indestructible. I convexed the edge with my Belt sander. It is scary sharp. It has the same length blade as my Buck 110 but weighs about half as much. Some cheap knives are good.;)
