Actually, according to legend, he can get a little mischievous at times.

Modern silversmiths have put him on skis, skateboards, playing tennis, etc. - totally disregarding his true southwestern Native American heritage. (Historians can give you a better answer on the true meaning of this symbol than I can.)

I used this little guy to promote my "Sandpiper" model - handing out sterling lapel pins and earrings with each knife sold. I even had a wrist watch and sterling bolo made for the "premier."

To most folks, he's just fun!

I think that is the name of the knife, but I'm not sure if that means that Larry is "A Fertility God who plays a flute".

Anyhow, thanks for the answers, and here is a new pic of the knife just added to photopoint:

His name -- KOKO for wood and Pilau for hump (which
was the bag of seeds he always carried)--

Kokopelli was said to play a flute as he traveled to pronounce his arrival to the villagers and it was considered the greatest of honors to be the women he chose to be his "dreamtime companions" for his duration of time in the village as many of these women apparently bore children from these unions.

Also known as the "Anasazi Cassanova".

He qualifies as one of the universal
symbols that Carl Jung talked about.

But wait, there's more!!

I hope this clears up any misconceptions about me being a flute playing fertility god!

Larry & Mitch,

Great info! I like the part where "It is said that he draws that heat from the center of the Earth. This must creat one heck of a heat treat!

Mitch, I edited the link in as you said and it works like a champ.
Thanks. I wish I could make Eugene, but I do need the time to work on knives. One good thing, that same weekend I have been invited to Dwayne Dushane's, http://www.lx.net/dushane/,
for some intensive filework lessons. Check out his vine and thorn pattern. Heck, check out any of his knives and filework! What a talent.

Michael, there's a whole lineup of Anasazi characters. The Shamam (an early SE design I did is also from the Anasazi. He has a twin brother that's some kind of Demonchaser. Hey, there's a good name for a new design!
Gotta jet....thanks guys,Larry D.
