Nice little hatchet

I picked this hatchet up at a garage sale last summer and finally got around to rehanging it. I did very little to it other than square up the edges and sand some rust off. The only marking on it is "made in Austria". On the replacement handle I reshaped it a bit, scraped off the plastic looking finish and used some linseed oil on it. Now I just want to make a belt sheath for it and put an edge on it.

German-made axes with n. American profiles (I think Montreal pattern is Canadian) are more common than Austrian-made. Certainly that is the case at present and for at least the past 40 years. Here's a shot of an unused Austrian Euro pattern (1950s) 'forest axe' made by a company with initials H G W. Their motif is a maple leaf identical to what German-made Iltis uses, and what Ardex Canada axes also featured.
