Nice loud thunk opening an Umnumzaan, not so much for the Insingo

I have an Insingo that I need to take apart, I have cleaned the handle of gunk, but I'm sure there is some grime in the pivot. I put a little squirt of the grease that comes with the knives in the pivot hole, after removing the thumb lug side pivot screw. Worked pretty smooth, maybe a little too smooth. I'm blind as a bat at night, not a good time to take it apart this evening. Maybe tomorrow in a salad bowl so I won't lose anything. Can I get that cool sounding thunk that I get with my Umnumzaan from my large micarta Insingo? Even my new large 21 opening sounds more like my Umnumzaan than my Insingo.

The combination of the o-rings on the thumbstud being somewhat worn slamming against the titanium frame and the ceramic ball lend to the sound that the Umnumzaan makes when opening.
The Insingo has neither of these features. The tumbstud on the Umnumzaan is also 303 stainless steel that is harder than the titanium it makes contact with.

To some extent, you can get some of the sound by flicking, but it will never approach the distinct sound the Umnumzaan makes.

Hey silent hunter. FYI: Putting the grease in the hole left when you remove a screw will not work for your Insingo, at least it's not supposed to work that way. The pivot screw passes through the infamous "bushing" in the 21 pivot. The bushing is stationary, and the blade rotate around it. The bushing should not rotate around the screw. You actually need to disassemble the knife to get the grease into right area in the pivot. The only lube I can see making it's way into the pivot without disassembly would be some type of oil. Hope this info helps. As mentioned by bhyde, the sound of these models is very different, due to the different design.
