Nice Old KH Kothimoda

I was floating around the 'net without any intention of purchasing anything and came across this little beauty. It is a KH kothimoda in not too bad shape considering it must be an older version. Most companies making these nowadays have opted to do away with center panels and i happen to like the peacock on this one. The shield and chain are intact and all silverwork is there with no damage. The only thing wrong with her is the handle is badly cracked on the top. A little horn hydration and epoxy fill will be in order. My only consternation is that i'd like to clean her up, but there is much patina on this one which could point to it's age. I will probably fix the handle and maybe polish the brass fittings and leave the scabbard as is. At any rate it was a fantasic score for $12.49 + shipping.:eek::D

It does look like a BAS model, doesn't it?

Oh...only if i could snatch Bura's model for now.:(

After perusing their site, I think it would be called the Nepali Army or maybe the GI5 model. I'm pretty certain that this is an older model, because the biggest size they have now is 10" and this kothi i have is 15".
